99% of the anxiety provoking thoughts has their roots in either the past or the future. Hence, central to the anxiety reducing activities is the idea of being/living in the moment/ present. In recent years, researchers have studied the effects of “Mandala Coloring” on reducing anxiety. Mandala coloring is known as a form of mediation, in which you suspend your thoughts while coloring. This process brings about calm and peacefulness. While increasing your focus, coloring helps maintaining the focus and empties your mind from the anxiety provoking thoughts about the past and the future. The results of the studies support the idea that coloring mandalas, significantly reduces anxiety.
