Tips for parents to reduce test anxiety in their kids:
- Have realistic yet positive expectations of your kid
- Help your kid develop realistic, achievable goals
- Accept mistakes and communicate that perfection is not expected in everything
- See your kid’ efforts, praise and reinforce them
- Provide tutoring sessions for your kid to help him/her practice and learn to become prepare for tests at school
- Instead of criticizing the irrational anxiety, empathize with your kid’s feelings of anxiety, distress, and unhappiness
