Tips for parents to reduce test anxiety in their kids:

  • Have realistic yet positive expectations of your kid
  • Help your kid develop realistic, achievable goals
  • Accept mistakes and communicate that perfection is not expected in everything
  • See your kid’ efforts, praise and reinforce them
  • Provide tutoring sessions for your kid to help him/her practice and learn to become prepare for tests at school
  • Instead of criticizing the irrational anxiety, empathize with your kid’s feelings of anxiety, distress, and unhappiness
